This is a 1940's vintage Japanese complete set of 144 bamboo mahjong tiles along with betting sticks of various denominations from 1 to 10. The entire set is protected by a wooden case bound in faux leather seen in pictures 1 and 2, divided on the inside into 5 secure boxes to protect the tiles from damage.
Each pai (tile) measures 1" by 3/4" x 1/2 (2.5 cm x 2.5 x 1.5 cm) and all tiles are in excellent condition. The case is in fair condition, showing some age on the edges. The iron snaps shut the box securely
