This was found in a house that was built in the 1880's, the new owners of the house wanted a pantry where the old one had been, underneath the stairs, which had been wallboarded up by the previous owners, during the demolish this train was found underneath the stairs, I have looked this over carefully and could only find the name Alton on it, in searching the web I found a train line by that name out of Chicago, could this have been on an executives desk?, I could not find any type of manufacterors nome on it, anyway this is very cool, a little rough, don't know if it runs, or if it is all there, but it does have a high coolness factor, the engine measures approx. 30 inches, and weighs probably 50? pounds, the tender measures approx. 16 inches
