The antique, 19th century, Cast Iron, Mechanical Bank in this auction depicts three circus clowns and an elephant. After some searching online I found that it was made by, J&E Stevens in 1882. Measuring only 4 1/2" across the bottom by 6 1/8" tall, this mechanical bank is in working condition! When you place a coin in between the two rings in the front and then pushing down on the ball which is on back clowns feet the elephant’s swings its trunk and knocks the coin down into the slot. There is some wear to the the original paint, which you can see in our photographs, ut overall this rare, Mechanical Bank is in excellent, original, working condition and there are no restorations
